Delete your account & data

1. Delete your account from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is in the app itself:

1. Open the NowAbout.me app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to the Danger Zone and tap Delete my account.
4. Confirm by entering your password and typing the word DELETE.

Your account is then deleted immediately and the associated data is removed or irreversibly anonymised as described below.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you have lost access to the app or your device, you can ask us to delete your account on your behalf. Send an email to privacy@nowabout.me from the email address registered on your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”, and include:

• the email address (or username / profile link) of the account you want deleted; and
• a short confirmation that you are the account owner and want it permanently deleted.

We may need to verify that you are the account owner before we proceed, to protect your account from unauthorised deletion. We action verified requests and complete deletion within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the personal data linked to it, including:

• your profile (name, username, bio, links, vanity handle) and account record;
• your photos, cover images, albums, stories and uploaded media;
• your voice messages and chat messages, and your chat memberships;
• your follows, likes, comments and story views;
• your scan events and the QR codes linked to your account (released back to unclaimed);
• your devices, push tokens, notifications, blocks and reports;
• your active sessions (you are signed out everywhere).

4. What we keep, and for how long

Some records are retained for the period required by law or to meet a legal obligation, and are pseudonymised or stripped of identifying details where possible:

• Transaction, tax and accounting records (subscriptions, store orders, payouts and commissions) — kept for the periods required by applicable law.
• Data needed to prevent fraud, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements — kept only as long as necessary for that purpose.
